WANT VIET FOOD IN SHANGHAI?

The name of this post is really ugly because I am struggling to find the english name.  Bah.  I should have taken a picture of the menu first.  Instead of taking a picture of the restaurant, which obviously has only chinese wordings on it.

No matter.  I do remember how to get there.  It’s near the Sheraton Hongqiao (about a 5 minute walk), and is literally right beside the Boxing Cat Brewery.  Meaning if I want to get there, I should just google / baidu the address of the Boxing Cat Brewery and just head to that general vicinity.  Once I see the brewery,  the Vietnamese restaurant should not be far away.

I love viet food. Love pho.  But on this particular night we ordered “Mong” which is the first picture of this blog post.  Mong is noodles drowned in seafood sauce, with lot’s of meat (like sausages).  I love it, haven’t had it in awhile.  What is the most interesting dish here though, as I am told, is this particular veggie dish:

I don’t know what it’s called (I don’t know what a lot of the food I eat is called), but apparently it’s really rare and you can’t find it in most restaurant.  The shape of the vegetable was definitely different, I just hope I ate something real and not fake.  Don’t know the name, but if you want to try it out just save this picture and show it to the waiter / waitress…they should know?
