Weatherspoon apparently is a big deal in Bagan.
It’s highly recommended on tripadvisor. Online bloggers giving raving reivews of this place, saying it is a must go to.
Hell, even the hotel recommended it.

Wait what? Even the hotel recommended it? Does this mean it’s a tourist trap? I mentioned in an earlier post that hotel recommendations are usually shit. So now I am a bit wary and scared of this place.
But since Life boss was beginning to turn into the hulk because of hunger, I quickly said “okay, weatherspoon it is!”.
Sat down and was immediately impressed with the service.
The very friendly waiter started to chat us up, asking where we were from, where HE was from, what he was doing.
He’s basically a 22 year old working to save money for college. Good man.
I already love the friendly service here, loved the atmosphere. Now, the only missing link is the food.
Would the food be good?
Only one way to find out.
And that way…
is to EAT THE FOOD!

Wait. the fuck. Life Boss ordered a burger?
I love you Weatherspoon already! You converted Life Boss to a burger eater!
Hah, so even if your burgers are shit I am still going to give you props.
So was it shit? Let’s see!
- Our beef burgers. These are supposed to be signature Weatherspoon burgers. To be honest, NOT the best burgers I’ve had in my life time. They used this very weird sauce to marinate the beef patty, so it didn’t really do it for me. HOWEVER, I must say it’s probably one of the best meals I’ve had in Bagan. Maybe it’s more of a testament of the shitty food in Bagan. Still, the fact that Life boss is eating a burger adds brownie points to this place!
- Oh I forgot we also ordered soup. I…don’t remember if it was good or not. Because I didn’t write any notes for it. Probably because I was still shell shocked with Life Boss ordering a burger. hah!
So….good service, average food [link to HONG KONG GOOD SERVICE VERSUS GOOD FODO BLOG]. Hard for me to label this as a “best restaurant”. Sorry Weatherspoon.
BUT I would give you that you are the best restaurant in BAGAN. We had a great time drinking beers, eating burgers and chatting with the waiter. So for that alone, you should probably check this place out.
We even got to leave our signatures on the wall! Now that’s pretty cool.
