3 REASONS TO DINE AT UTOPIA (HINT:NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FOOD)

Hello Luang Prabang!

Surrounded by stunning mountains and the Mekong River, this place is an absolute must visit place in South East Asia.

And when you are in a cool, relaxed town like this one you have to find a bar / restaurant that is also chilled.

A bar / restaurant that is relaxing, just like the town.

A bar / restaurant where you can spend many hours at.

A bar / restaurant that simply, has an AWESOME

Alright get to the point Choi.

So not patient you.

We visited the very popular restaurant / bar called Utopia! that has one of the BEST atmospheres I have experienced so far in my young adult life (or am I considered old now since I am 33?).

Without further ado, I present to you 3 reason why Utopia would be an awesome place to chill at.

# 1 – Utopia has a great view of Luang Prabang.

Let’s not kid ourselves.

Luang Prabang is beautiful.

So if your restaurant has a great view of Luang Prabang, then you are automatically considered one of the best restaurants in Luang Prabang.

With a view like that, how can you not be chilled and relaxed? I can imagine myself just sitting here and downing 4 – 5 drinks while soaking in this magnificent view.

It’s simple beautiful.

# 2 – The place is comfortable.

Now that Utopia has gotten the view out of the way, the next thing they worked on was coziness and being comfortable.

You can have the best view in the world, but if you don’t provide a comforting environment for your guests to relax in, they are just going to snap a photo and get the fuck out right away.

I know I will.

That’s why Utopia is smart, they equipped the entire restaurant with lawn chairs, hammocks, and pillows.

I can literally take a nap here.

# 3 – Wide range of drinks

I am not an alcoholic. Although life boss says I am and that I should cut back on it. Meanwhile I see her downing a bottle of wine.

But it’s true, Choi does enjoy a night of drinking. Especially with good company.

And life boss is good company.

But if the restaurant does not serve any alcohol, then man does it ever get boring. So good thing that Utopia has a WIDE range of drinks.

For those that are curious, I got the moscow mule and then 2 pastis.

Yes I love pastis. I am damn sophisticated now.

So there you have it, Choi’s 3 reasons why Utopia has great atmosphere and you should have a drink there.

Just drink? How about the food?

Ah yes. There is a reason why I did not say “best restaurants in Luang Prabang”. Because it isn’t.

Why?

Because the food needs improvement.

We ordered two pizzas (yes I know). One was the spicy chicken, and the other Hawaiian. We only ordered the 2nd one because Choi was getting drunk so he needed to munch on something.

But really, the pizzas were not good. It tasted like something you can get from the grocery store?

Spicy Chicken. No tomato sauce, cheese wasn’t cheesey enough. Overall fail.
Our second pizza. It tasted a bit better but only because I was drunk. I think.
The recommended chicken skewers which should not really be recommended because it’s shit.
