EATING IN OSHAWA: BERRY HILL

Hello long weekend!

No work on Monday (Victoria Day!). That can only mean one thing and one thing only. Time for a road trip! After debating where to go, we decided on Ottawa. Why? I don’t really know. It was between Ottawa and Montreal. Haven’t been to Ottawa since forever so yeah let’s do that instead. We started driving on the Saturday around 830ish AM. Since it was a 4.5 hour drive we decided to make a pit stop at Oshawa. I don’t think I have ever visited Oshawa before. Life boss found a nice little cafe called Berry Hill and that’s where we decided to have brunch!

Cute little cafe. It was empty when we got there but I think it had more to do with it being Saturday in Oshawa than the quality of the food here. I ordered the breakfast sandwich because the waitress made it sound like it was super bad ass.It really wasn’t. It just whole wheat bread with fluffy eggs and tomato. Nothing special about it. We could have made it at home.

It wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t like WOW blowing my mind kind of good. Life boss got the salmon benedict. This looked so much better. Poached eggs, salmon on a soft croissant. Damn it. I should have gotten this instead. It looked AND tasted great. I really should stop listening to recommendations from the waitresses. Been getting burned a lot lately.

Just a short post here. Nothing to rave about, though it would be nice to chill here on a nice saturday afternoon (or late morning). On a side note – we really should come more often to Oshawa!
