Chicago is famous for it’s skyscrapers, that is why you will find there is a lot of boat tours that will guide you through the Chicago river and explain each building. And that’s what I did! The tour guide gave a detailed explanation on the significance of each building. Unfortunately, I am the kind of person that when I am on a boat, I have to listen to my music. It’s just relaxing for me. Therefore I stopped listening after 10 minutes. Plugged in my iphone and just enjoyed the scenery. I really recommend you listening to the tour guides though, they really do give good background information on the buildings.
If you are asking me which boat tour to take, really I would say just go for the one that looks legitimate, good and reasonable price. There are about 4 – 5 boat tours that you can compare with, but I really think they are all of good quality and will provide you with a good time.
Also you don’t need to reserve tickets ahead of time. There will be plenty of seats available, because the boat tours do occur at a pretty high frequency.
