Did you know that the City of Kaohsiung really likes their art? I do, well only because I did some research before visiting this place. I mean, you should learn a bit about the culture, lifestyle and attractions of the city you are visiting right? Especially if it’s for vacation.
And that my friends, is why I went to the Pier 2 Art District in Kaohsiung. Here’s a recap of this unique experience.
First, let’s talk logistics. I suggest taking the MRT (the public train) because it’s the most convenient / cheapest way to get here. Get off at the Yangchengpu station orange line, exit 1. Once you exit the station, you will see a sign that says “Pier 2 Art District”.

Yes that’s the art district that I am talking about. Follow it until you see sculptures, structures and other things that is deemed to be art.
There is also an exhibit where they display, well art. Took a lot of pictures here because there was a lot of things to look at:

Okay WARNING: The next few pictures are rated R. Don’t look at me, I didn’t sculpt these guys. It’s ART. Deal with it.

haha I don’t get it. I really don’t. Maybe it’s some sort of abstract art that is suppose to symbolize something meaningful?
I don’t really know.
Another reason why you should come here is because it’s simply a great walk. The district is only 10 minutes away from the Love River. You also see a lot of locals here walking, biking, and just relaxing.
Love it.
